Abstract

Variabel Independen stimulus kutaneus slow stroke back massage sedangkan variabel dependentnya adalah intensitas nyeri.

Actually the pain is minimized by using a back massage. The AHCPR (Agency for Health Care Policy and Research) guidelines for the management of acute non-pharmacological pain are interventions that are suitable for non-pharmacological interventions that can be performed to treat pain are cutaneous stimulation, distraction, relaxation, guided imagination and hypnosis. This study aims to determine the effect of slow stroke back massage cutaneous stimulus on pain intensity in rattan craftsmen who suffer from low back pain in the Tegalwangi Village, Cirebon.

The research design used quasy experiment. The number of samples were 31 respondents with purposive sampling technique. The independent variable is stimulus cutaneous slow stroke back massage while the dependent variable is pain intensity. This study uses the Wilcoxon signed runk test.

The results showed that there was an influence between the intensity of pain before and after the intervention of cutaneous Stimulus slow stroke back massage in 1 week 3x consecutively for 4 weeks in rattan craftsmen suffering from low back pain with a p value = 0,000 <0.05.
